Swallow Barn

Swallow Barn is a delightful cottage situated close enough to the sand pit play area for parents to take their cups of coffee with them while they watch their children having fun in the sand. An entrance lobby is useful for stowing sandy shoes, beach gear or wellies.

The cottage has a cosy atmosphere with soft rugs on the wood and slate floors, comfortable sofas and a mixture of rustic and modern styles gives the best of both worlds. Large glazed windows and doors allow the light to pour into the living room and there is seating outside for a quiet glass of something cool in the evening sun.As with all our cottages, this kitchen is well equipped for all your holiday needs.

Upstairs the original beams add extra character and a bird nesting box with a viewing panel is set into the wall behind the curtains.

There is a warm, family bathroom with a shower over bath.

Two bedrooms: The master bedroom decorated in soft relaxing hues and has a king sized bed.

The second bedroom has plenty of room for the set of bunks plus a single bed.

One dog is welcome in this cottage in off peak weeks.

The Old Apple Tallet

Next door to Swallow Barn, The Old Apple Tallet is cosy and welcoming. When you kick off your sandy shoes in the porch and go inside you will find a woodburner in an inglenook fireplace, comfortable sofas and lots of other unusual added features, including a bird nesting box hidden behind the curtains in the bedroom wall and a decorative old cast iron range, happily no longer used for cooking! The kitchen equipment will provide for all your culinary needs for cooking with gas!

The second floor was once the farm’s apple loft, or tallet, with characterful beams and cute little windows. There are two bedrooms; the master bedroom with a double bed and the roomy second bedroom with a set of bunks and a single (which converts into a super-king if needed).

The Old Apple Tallet has a luxurious family bathroom and also a downstairs WC.

One visiting dog is welcome in out of peak season times.

Kingfisher Cottage

Another adaptable property, this cottage offers superb accommodation for up to 5 people.

The living area of this cottage is open plan with a cheerful red gas rayburn making the country style kitchen very welcoming and of course there are all the other kitchen items you would expect to find as well, including a gas hob and microwave.

Country style furnishings, soft leather sofas, rugs on the polished wood floor, all arranged around a woodburner add up to the promise of cosy evenings in, whatever the season.

Being on one level, and with two entrances, one via steps through the small private garden and balcony and the other from a separate level parking area, Kingfisher Cottage is disabled friendly, including for wheelchairs.

Kingfisher Cottage has two bedrooms; the master bedroom has a king sized bed. The second bedroom has two single beds on the lower level with a third single bed on the mezzanine level above. Serious family negotiating often takes place when deciding who will sleep up-top!!

The large Victorian style bathroom has a massive vintage cast iron bath and a wet room type shower. Bespoke leaded and stained glass windows, made by a local craftsman, add to the individuality of this cottage as do the traces of its former use as the farm stables. The harness hangers are still set into the walls and the original polished oak tack cupboard makes a wonderful wardrobe!
